Instead of teaching people ‘how’ to write, I create a fun activity with a writing prompt of some sort to kickstart their imaginations.

Over the years I’ve been doing this group, I have created hundreds of writing prompts and activities for kids, and recently I have been looking at ways to use these to reach more people.

I had a program for a while where I sent out writing activities each month, but this didn’t take off in the way I had hoped.

In 2018, I started my 12 Days of Christmas program. This is a free program where I send out a writing activity every day for 12 days, starting on Christmas day. This is one way I can create writing activities and share them with people. I have fun creating prompts and participants have fun playing with them.

Last year, I published Genie in my Drink Bottle and other fun writing prompts, a book with 52 writing prompts that have been used in the writers groups. This is available in both print and ebook format and has been sold around the world.

A while ago, I had a crazy idea of putting together a book for each month of the year and having it as a subscription. I hadn’t done much about it, until a friend pushed me further. Today I put together the prompts for January, February, and March. That’s 91 writing prompts! I have hundreds more that I’ve used, so doing the rest of the year is mostly a matter of sorting them all out, and coming up with a few new ones. My friend has designed all the covers! There are a few more details to work out, but it looks like I’ll have a new product for next year!
